A very rare boxed Sterling Armaments HR81 .22 Calibre Air Rifle made by Benjamin – Sheridan in Racine,Wisconsin, USA between 1988 -1994.
This was a British designed Air rifle introduced in 1982 to the UK market by the Sterling Armaments Company and designed by Roy Hutchinson hence the ‘HR’ designation.
It is an underlever spring powered air rifle with a bolt action loading port.
Following financial troubles at Sterling Armaments the Air Rifle design was bought by the large American company, Benjamin -Sheridan, where it went into production circa 1988 eventually ceasing production around 1994.
It is similar in design to the British made rifle, the American produced examples had ‘Lothar Walther’ Barrels and the sights were improved, the back sight being fitted to the scope rail in particular.
This is a pristine boxed example in virtually unused condition. The blueing is in excellent order with the checkered walnut stock also in in fantastic condition. We believe these checkered stocks were only produced for a short while as it was found to be too expensive so this is likely an early example.
The box and packaging is in very good order and the rifle is complete with its original instruction manual and a set of foresight elements.
A rare Air Rifle and complete with its original packaging a great collectable example.
Air Guns and Air Rifles manufactured after 1939 are restricted by the Violent Crime Reduction Act as regards sale and delivery and as such the transaction must be on a face to face basis.
