A unique and probably the only example of a Beeman R1 ‘Don Blocksidge’ engraved .177 Calibre Air Rifle.
The Beeman R1 is the predecessor of the Weihrauch HW80 and was made by the company in collaboration with Robert Beeman who was a major importer and retailer of Air Guns into the USA in the 70’s and 80’s.
This rifle was made by Weihrauch in West Germany and imported into the USA before finding its way to the United Kingdom. It is essentially a Weihrauch HW 80. As the reunification of Germany was in 1990 this rifle was made prior to this date as its stamped ‘West Germany’
The rifle is in pristine condition and has been extensively and beautifully engraved by Don Blocksidge on the cylinder, trigger block, barrel housing and moderator. It has then been professionally reblued to a very high standard.
The stock is an as new beautiful and strikingly grained walnut Custom Sporter stock with no marks to the finish with a rosewood capping to the grip.
The rifle is fitted with a classic Japanese TASCO 4-16 x40 period scope.
